If you or somone you know needs help with the cost of prescription medications, contact Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging. Its “Pharmacy Connections/Medication Assistance Program” is for people over age 55 who meet certain low-income guidelines and do not have medication insurance.

The Medication Assistance Program screens for available free or reduced-cost medications offered to seniors by pharmaceutical companies. These companies use income and health information to determine eligibility. Medications are usually sent to the prescribing doctor’s office, but sometimes are sent to the senior’s home.

According to Carolyn Lanbert, Pharmacy Connection program manager, “This program is helping many individuals who have no other assistance. We want more seniors to know about this opportunity.”

For information, contact Carolyn Lambert at 343-3018 or clambert@youraaa.org.
