Begun in 1990, Richmond Parents Monthly is dedicated
to providing central Virginia’s families with the best information and
resources available to enhance parenting and family life.
Our mission is to facilitate a shared sense of
community among parents by telling our stories, providing useful
information, and being an avenue of support and a forum for dialogue on

your full name and address. Comments selected for publication may be

Calendar Events

number and must be received by the 5th of the month prior to the event.
Calendar items received after this date will be entered on the online
calendar as staff time permits.
Distribution
Richmond Parents Monthly is a free magazine published twelve times a
year. It is distributed to over 400 locations throughout the
Central Virginia area including greater Richmond, Charlottesville and
Fredericksburg at Martins’s, CVS and McDonald’s, as well as many
libraries, museums, malls and more.

Article Submissions
Richmond Parents Monthly considers article queries and submissions from
local writers. Publication is not guaranteed. Queries must be
accompanied by three to five clips. Resumes are welcome but not
required.
Articles run 400 to 2200 words, with payment appropriate to length.
Writers new to the magazine are more likely to be accepted at the
shorter end of the range.
Submissions by local writers for the “Your Turn” essay feature should be
400 to 900 words and can be researched opinions or humorous or
reflective thoughts on any aspect of parenting. Mail or e-mail to the
addresses above.
