college edge By Julie Bruner
November
Seniors in High School
-Study for the SAT/ACT if you need to take them again.
-Only you can request College Board and ACT to send your official
testing scores to your list of colleges.
-Make “sloppy copies” of your college applications for practice. Most
applications can be downloaded.
-Ask for help in editing essays and resumes. Do they tell the reader
about you? Do not abbreviate.
-Don’t forget to ask your school to send your credentials to your
colleges.
-Thank those who wrote your recommendations.
-Interviews will be set in motion for Early Decision/Action candidates.
After each interview, write a thank-you note.
Juniors in High School
-Begin looking at the SAT and ACT testing schedules. You can get the
schedules at collegeboard.com,
act.org, or in your counselor’s
office.
-Talk to your counselor to see what testing schedule works best for you.
-Visit with college representatives to learn about their schools.
-Keep your studies at the top of your priority list. Colleges look
closely at your junior year.-Study hard and organize well
