family connection By Susan Grandpre   Susan Grandpre

Inner Strength Pulls Her Through

Unconditional love and security of family is something that all children deserve and what an 11-year-old girl named Tanasha is longing to find. Tanasha lives in foster care and awaits adoption by a family that will love and cherish her for her entire life.

Tanasha
Like many 11-year-old girls, Tanasha enjoys music, singing, acting and dancing. She loves everything related to Disney’s “High School Musical.“ Tanasha likes to go shopping and is interested in fashion. Participating in arts and crafts is an activity that she finds enjoyable. She thinks it is fun to go to the movies and to eat out in restaurants, especially for her favorite food, Chinese.
Tanasha is in 5th grade and enjoys school. She says that her favorite subjects include spelling, math and social studies. She likes being around other people and gets along well with children of all ages. In addition to spending time surrounded by people, Tanasha also loves animals.
Sharon Richardson with Coordinators2 describes Tanasha as “polite, helpful and fun to be around.” Richardson also comments that despite everything that Tanasha has experienced, she has remained positive and continues to want a permanent family.
“Tanasha’s inner strength has allowed her to survive the hard times and now she needs someone to be there for her to lean on and build trust with,” comments Richardson.
Tanasha says that she wants a family who will “love me, treat me good, and do lots of fun things with me.”
Tanasha does need a family to take part in her favorite activities with her, but she also needs that family who will create a nurturing environment where she feels safe, secure and cherished.
She needs and deserves that thing called unconditional love—love with no strings attached and regardless of what happens. Tanasha needs a family committed to loving and caring for her for a lifetime.
For more information about Tanasha, contact Sharon Richardson with Coordinators2 at 804-354-1881 or Bernie Pullen with the Henrico Department of Social Services at 804-501-4059.
